July 2011, Jim Morrison: "Enchantment"
Jim Morrison

Completed in July 2011... this portrait of Jim is charcoal on antique colored paper (click for enlarged view). It was a special order for a friend of mine.

Inspired by the lines about "The Scream of the Butterfly", as well as my client's request that butterflies somehow be incorporated into the theme of her project, I gave Jim mystical and beautiful but yet tattered wings, perhaps representing the two sides of his personality: that he was attractive, but also grim and destructive.

As with all my projects, it was made painstakingly by hand. If you would like more information about my artwork, please don't hesitate to drop me a line...

More updates soon.

About My Artwork...

Original, handmade & one of a kind portrayals~

I have devoted over 15 years of my life (so far) to perfecting my drawing technique. A lot of blood, sweat and tears in each piece you see here, they are definitely a labor of love. Normally, my preferred media is acrylic paint and colored pencils, but I also often use chalk pastel and charcoal as needed.

"I treated Art as the supreme reality, and Life as a mere mode of Fiction." ~ Oscar Wilde

I do sell my paintings, my rates are reasonable (again, remember it's a labor of love), and sometimes I accept orders for custom projects; if you are interested in owning any of the artwork you see on my site, please contact me directly for more information.

Upcoming Projects::

We have such sights to show you...

New subjects on the horizon: Norwegian Black/Symphonic Metal icon Shagrath, and long awaited Gothic Legend, King Diamond! Promises to be a wonderful addition to my steadily growing repertoire of extreme musicians. ... I also have plans for new Jim Morrison paintings (example at left, Eye of Night), and I have a showing of my work in the UK, in October 2012, which I am keeping busy getting some new stuff prepared for.

I will be updating the site as I complete new projects. Since these are all handmade works of art, each one takes weeks or even months to complete. To stay updated on my latest projects, please consider joining my e-list, or join Libertina Grimm (me) on FaceBook.
