This project was inspired by a request for a portrait of Jim that recalled the lines from Celebration of the Lizard, "Now Night arrives with her purple legion", but many other imageries kept coming to mind too, as I worked, like the silvery stream, the ancient lake, the cool jeweled moon, the shadows of the trees….things like that…The barns are stormed/ The windows kept/& only one of all the rest/To dance & save us…/We of the purple glove/We of the starling flight/ & velvet hour…(JDM, An American Prayer). This all seemed to be guiding me on this project.

The original artwork is sold (Read the owner's comments), but 8 x 10 color prints are available; click here for info. Of course the web ID and stuff does not appear on the prints or original art.I can add a touch of glitter to the shooting star in the prints too; the effect is pretty cool, so be sure and ask me about that if you are interested.
