Fossils, caves, cool air heights... there is much depth of imagery in this one. This 8 x 10 in. pencil drawing was awarded to the winner of my 2005 Essay Contest. As she wrote in her poem, "Ancient civilizations crumble into the abyss/ leaving strange artifacts for future generations..."

Celebration of the Lizard was a huge inspiration for this piece, as well as some comments from an interview with Jim where he said: "People feel they're dying in a bad landscape. So they gather together in a seance. They try to cure an illness, to bring back harmony into the world." Contact
