heatre of Myths": 11" x 14", Mixed media. A commissioned piece, wherein the buyer wanted the setting for his portrait of Jim to be at the Pere Lachaise grave site.

For this one, I was going for a montage effect, as in the Morrison writings, As I look back/ over my life/ I am struck by post/ cards/ Ruined snap shots/ faded posters/ Of a time, I can't recall. It was this spirit, as well as the rich, unique imagery that Jim always presented which I was trying to express here.

This is some raw truth: I looked for a girl in/ New Mexican/ bars/ & found jail/ The prostitute looked out/ her cell & saw/ Fuck god scratched/ on a leprous wall/ -- You're rambling boy/ what of the rest...

Jim sits and ponders and writes, but for a moment - he's about to get up and walk on down the hiway, leaving us with this intense and jumbled montage of images and thoughts.

Notes: The heading "40 years..." was specifically requested by the client. I am not sure why.
(The 40 year anniversary of Jim's death is actually 2011.)
