Ravaged and
plundered and ripped her and bit her/ stuck her with knives in the
Side of the Dawn and/ tied her with fences and/ dragged her
down...
I'm not sure if this
portrait needs any more explanation than that - those lines pretty
much sum it up; but here are some comments from the client who
commissioned it:
"...When I saw Side of
the Dawn I was floored. I
actually said out loud 'Oh my God!' Michele had several creative
suggestions for the commission and she settled on one that she felt
I would like after we had emailed back and forth discussing her
ideas. She couldn't have chosen better. I absolutely love this
painting and the song lyric it depicts. She also beautifully brought
to life her idea with an artist's masterful hand. She truly is
talented and the fact that she uses this talent to honor Jim
Morrison is our extreme good fortune. Thanks so much Michele!"
The original painting is 11 inches by 14 inches, acrylic on
canvasboard (and does not have my Web ID stuff on it). Info
