 im Morrison was a tortured, confused, brilliant and desperate soul. His poetry and music is legendary. His work inspires me, as an artist, on a subconscious level; I feel a spiritual closeness, a contact with him.
Maybe it's because I see myself in him, or perhaps he reaches me through the Universal Mind- the essence that connects us all, that we can all somehow understand and yet not really explain. When I listen to The Doors, I am taken away, to a place where the day-to-day ceases to exist, where there is real magic, wonder, danger, and inspiration. And inner freedom. That Moment of Freedom… "I am a guide to the labyrinth"…
It is in that light that I create these handmade works of art, sometimes adapted from photos, other times not, but always they are images of Jim's poetry; they are like visions from the Other Side. I've met the Spirit of Music. And as with his poetry, my artwork aims to present possibilities, and achieve a broadening of inner sight and feeling.
